Ward advocacy groups
Interested in grassroots advocacy? Cycle Toronto's Ward Advocacy Program organizes by municipal ward.
Join a ward group
You can join one or more Ward Advocacy Groups by clicking the Join link next to the group in the list. Create an account if you don't already have one. And if you don't know your ward, search by address.
Group members can add new ward posts and comment on existing ones. Every post will also send out email alerts from the group. For more detailed help, visit the faq page.
What ward groups have done
Ward Advocacy Groups plan campaigns for specific cycling needs within their ward, organize community rides (like the costumed Phantom Ride for Lansdowne Bike Lanes seen at left, organized by Wards 14 & 18), develop relationships with their City Councillors, and reach out to their neighbours and local businesses for support.
Ward Advocacy Groups were instrumental in the creation of the Shaw St bikeway, starting a dialogue about bike lanes on Yonge, showing the need to save BIXI Toronto, and generating momentum for protected lanes on Eglinton.
