Sign and Share the Beltline Petition
As you may be aware, the City is in the planning stages of a project to improve the Beltline Trail. We have launched an online petition at cycleto.ca/beltline. If you haven’t yet signed our paper petition, please sign the online petition now. And pass the word along to your neighbours! Let’s make a strong statement to the City that we, the trail users, want to see the Beltline Trail improved and made safer for everyone - cyclists and pedestrians alike. We will also distribute the petition to the City councillors and MPPs around the project area, to show how many members in their community support the Beltline project.
We are continuing our in-person petition drive on the Beltline Trail into the autumn. We reached 500 signatures last weekend. Help us reach 1000 signatures by the next City-sponsored public meeting on November 8th (location TBD).
The map below indicates the location of petitioners' postal codes, and illustrates that the Beltline is not just a local park, but is used by people across the city. (30 people live outside the map boundary!)

For more background information on our suggestions for improving the Beltline, read our 6-page submission to the City of Toronto.
Community support is vital to the success of the project. Our recommendations have been endorsed by the Friends of Oriole Park, Oakwood Village Community Association and Eglinton2020. Does your group want to endorse our recommendations? Drop us a line at email@example.com!
Our New Name
It was a very close vote, but our group’s new name is now Cycle Toronto Midtown (or CycleTO Midtown for short). Thank you to all who voted. The old "TCU22" moniker will now be retired. We feel that our new name better describes who we are - the local affiliate of Cycle Toronto in Midtown. Although we are primarily based in Ward 22, we cycle throughout the Midtown area, our members and supporters come from throughout Midtown, and our group frequently deals with broad issues affecting many areas in central Toronto. We will continue to focus on making cycling better in midtown Toronto!

Next Meeting - Monday October 15th at Twisted Kilt
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 15th, 7 PM at the Twisted Kilt Pub, located at 1954 Yonge St. (west side, just north of Davisville - see map) Note the changed location. Discussion will primarily be focused on the Beltline Trail project. Keep in mind that we will be having our monthly meetings on a regular basis from this point onwards on the third Monday of every month.
