Join us for the Cycle Toronto Ride for Richmond Adelaide Protected Bike Lanes! Saturday June 8, noon
We have a unique opportunity to build a long, connected route through the downtown core. Let's not lose it!
Richmond and Adelaide are the most sensible options for protected bike lanes: they could connect east bike lanes on Eastern Ave and Sherbourne to downtown west neighbourhoods; they don't have streetcars and they pass by hundreds of buildings where people are eager to travel safely and stress-free on bikes.
This family-friendly 6km ride will start and end at St. James Park at the corner of Jarvis and Adelaide, traveling east along Adelaide to Sherbourne and then loop back along Richmond. We do our utmost to follow all traffic laws and keep everyone safe. The ride is being organized by Cycle Toronto as a part of our Richmond-Adelaide campaign.
With protected bike lanes young and old are much more eager to take up this healthy activity. New protected bike lanes in New York, Chicago, Vancouver and Montreal are popular with all ages. No more struggling with heavy trucks and speeding cars! Let's start building these in Toronto!
Hope to see you there!
