*Update*: Refer-a-Rider has now come to an end for 2014. A big thank you goes out to all the members that participated in the campaign, as well as to the generous sponsors who provided the phenomenal prizing. Thanks also to everyone who joined Cycle Toronto. By the end of the campaign, 285 people joined Cycle Toronto, or renewed their membership to support our ongoing advocacy work. Check out the list of winners. We're already looking forward to next year!
Cycle Toronto has had some amazing wins for cyclists in the past few years, from protected bike lanes on Richmond & Adelaide to helping save Bike Share, and we're working hard to see protected bike lanes on Eglinton! But we’re only as strong as members. In 2011, we had 1,000 members. Today, we're up to 2,700. We want to hit 3,000 members this year and 10,000 by 2018. Help make that dream a reality!
Until Friday November 7th, tell your friends, family and colleagues to join Cycle Toronto through your own Refer-a-Rider campaign page. This year, our goal is 500 new members! Help build our organization and push for a better cycling city.
Take your campaign even further
Does a school in your community need better bike parking? Does your office need a repair stand? For 2014, we're excited to introduce a team campaign option with special team prizes from Urban Racks, including a bike repair station and pump, and a bike corral. When you encourage friends, family and co-workers to join Cycle Toronto, you're not only supporting our work in advocacy and education, but you could also help make your own neighbourhood more bike-friendly in a concrete way.

It's easy! Just create an individual campaign page and send it to your friends, family, and colleagues. To take your campaign further this year, create a team page, add yourself, and find some teammates. Check out our tips & tricks for a successful campaign!
How does it work?
Your campaign page tracks the number of members you recruit through your page. You can recruit both new members and expired members towards your total, and compare your progress to our other recruiters. When you create or join a team, people can still join or renew through your page, but your tally also goes towards your team.
The Refer-a-Rider main page displays a live tally of our top five individual and team recruiters, and how many members they have personally recruited through their campaign page. This will give you an idea of how many more members you, or your team would need recruit to get in or stay in the top five!
Refer-a-Rider has now been extended untill Friday November 7th. At the end of the contest, we'll announce the winners and get them their prizes.
The program is open to members, non-members, and non-full time staff.
