Cycle Toronto has created this Privacy Policy to explain why we collect particular information and how we will protect your personal privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices. In order to fully understand your rights we encourage you to read this Privacy Policy. Cycle Toronto reserves the right at any time to change this Privacy Policy. We will notify members of any changes to the Privacy Policy via email prior to when they take effect, and will post the changes on our website: cycleto.ca. Any such change will be effective immediately upon posting. 

What Information We Collect:

Cycle Toronto collects personal information about you only if you volunteer it in a survey, sign up for a membership, make a donation or sign up for our newsletter. Personal info rmation may include your name, email address, mailing address and volunteer interests. We do not request or store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit card information, and we do not sell our mailing list. Unless you specifically provide Cycle Toronto with your contact information, your visits to our website are anonymous. Cycle Toronto does not track personal information of visitors to our website.

When We May Contact You:

Cycle Toronto regularly sends email alerts about upcoming events, calls to action and news. We may also occasionally email about services or events offered by outside partner organizations. These emails will always originate from Cycle Toronto. To unsubscribe from email updates from Cycle Toronto, you can remove your name from the mailing list by following the instructions at the bottom of the email message.

Disclosing Information To Ward Advocacy Groups:

Cycle Toronto will never share personal information with any businesses or outside organizations. However, Cycle Toronto may share email addresses only with members’ local ward advocacy group (if such a group exists in the ward) to facilitate ward based mobilization. The ward advocacy groups are part of an internal Cycle Toronto program and an integral part of our advocacy work. You may opt out of your ward advocacy group mailing list by following the instructions at the bottom of the email message.

Security:

All information provided to Cycle Toronto is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our Website that is only accessible by staff and those volunteers and members of the Board of Directors directly involved with the financial and IT operations of the Cycle Toronto. Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.
