Register/Report/Check

Have you ever had your bike stolen? Do you know anyone who has? If you live in Toronto, chances are you know a victim of bike theft.
To combat bike theft, we’re launching the REGISTER/REPORT/CHECK campaign! The solution to reducing bike theft is to collapse the market for stolen bikes, making it harder for thieves to re-sell stolen bikes, and easier for the police to return stolen bikes to their owners.
This requires three elements:
1. REGISTER your bike
2. REPORT theft when it occurs
3. CHECK the stolen status of used bikes
Many don't register their bikes because they don't see the point. Even fewer people report the theft when it occurs. And since so few bikes are registered, stolen bikes change hands easily because people rarely check to see if the bikes are stolen. Through our apathy we end up creating a healthy market for stolen bikes!
Spread the word! Forward this link to your friends, family, and co-workers. Get them to register their bikes, and let's build awareness of how easy it is for us to fight bike theft. This works best if we are all registered.
