BIXI Council Vote - May 2010Check out our bike friendly summary of TCAT’s election survey - see the documents attached below! The Toronto Cyclists Union has identified a list of candidates who possess the potential to best understand and support the needs of cyclists in Toronto.
Please note that candidates listed in bold font are the incumbents. For your interest, we have also attached a document below that lists the voting records of incumbents for cycling decisions made in the last term of council. Any wards left blank in our candidates list are for one of the following reasons; Zero candidates from a particular ward completed the survey; Or, several candidates did complete the survey but the Toronto Cyclists Union found responses to be unsupportive of the needs of cyclists.
This list of supportive candidates was compiled based solely on candidates who completed the TCAT election survey. The voting records of incumbents were compiled via our review of city council meeting minutes.
The purpose of this list, and the voting record of incumbents, is to provide you, our membership, with a summary of bike friendly candidates. In effect, the summary is meant to act as a launching point for further research on the ward level elections. The Toronto Cyclists Union encourages you to take a closer look at these candidates and to spend a few hours volunteering on the campaign of the candidate you choose!
Further details about the Toronto Coalition for Active Transportation (TCAT) survey can be found here.
