Sherbourne Street Bicycle Lanes Upgrade Public Meeting
The first separated bike lane is coming to Toronto in 2012 on Sherbourne Street! Let's fill the room with cyclists to show our support. Please save the date for this meeting. We hope to see you there!
When: Thursday, January 26th from 5pm to 8pm
Where: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School Gym - 444 Sherbourne St. (at Wellesley)
City Council has directed City staff to proceed with the detailed design and consultation process to upgrade the bicycle lanes on Sherbourne Street. New designs will introduce a separation between motor vehicles and cyclists, to help reduce the potential for conflicts and improve safety for all road users.
Sherbourne is the first of a series of similar bikeway projects planned to improve cycling conditions in Toronto's downtown. The goal is to do this work in 2012 as part of the watermain and road resurfacing work already planned for Sherbourne Street.
Please come to this Public meeting, to review detailed design information, explore problems and possible solutions, and tell the City which issues are critical priorities for you to inform the designs to upgrade the bicycle lanes on Sherbourne St.
